Our son Ali Zayyan who is only 1 year 10 months old has been diagnosed with moyamoya disease. It is a very rare disease caused by blocked arteries at the base of the brain. The only treatment available for this disease is a revascularaization surgery that can restore the blood flow to the brain. If left untreated the child will have multiple strokes which could lead to paralysis. Th
is could also lead to speech deficits , sensory and cognitive impairments, involuntary movements, and vision problems. We come from Maldives where we have no facilities and expertise for such a surgery. The nearest place in which we can get treatment for our son is Singapore. However it costs approximately SDG 20-25000 for the treatment. The travelling and the stay in sinagapore will add up to30 thousand dollars. it will take another two years to save such an amount. This will be too late for the child as it is a condition that requires prompt treatment. Ali is currently suffering from mini strokes accompanied by mascular weakness affecting one yside of the body.So if possible can you bloggers/readers, donate to save my son's life.
